'Females On The Fast Track' Girls Tech Program

High school girls currently in 9th or 10th
grades are invited to discover career opportunities in
engineering and technology at the “Females on the Fast Track”
workshop. This free program will be held from 9 a.m. to 3:30
p.m. Friday and Saturday, June 4 and 5, at Boise State
University. Students attend both days and the program will take
place in the Micron Engineering Center at 1020 Manitou Ave.
The deadline for applications is May 23. To sign up, e-mail Mike
Luque at
mikeluque@boiseschools.org and include your name, address,
phone number and why you want to participate in the workshop.
Forty girls will participate in the program. In addition to free
registration, the program will also include free lunch, snacks
and prizes daily.
Students will enjoy hands-on activities and will learn about
career information in interesting and well-paid engineering and
technology fields. Professional and student members of the
Society for Women Engineers will facilitate the activities.
Females on the Fast Track is presented by the Tech Prep Region
III program at Boise State.
