Harvey Phillips 'Big Brass' Bash To Blow Into Boise State In July

Harvey Phillips, Adam Frey and Don Harry (l-r) are the guest artist the 18th annual Harvey Phillips Northwest “Big Brass” Bash The 18th annual Harvey Phillips Northwest “Big Brass” Bash will blow into Boise State University July 9-11. This is the first year that the nationally recognized event for tuba and euphonium players has come to Boise. The three-day festival features recitals, clinics, rehearsals, a new solo competition and guest artists Harvey Phillips, Adam Frey and Don Harry. The public is invited to three free concerts. 3:45 p.m. Saturday, July 10 — Keating Johnson Young Artist Recital, culminating with the junior and senior division winners. Morrison Center Recital Hall. 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 10 — John F. Baker Founder’s Recital including graduate division first place winners. 2 p.m. Sunday, July 11 — Finale Concert, featuring all participants in a massed tuba and euphonium ensemble.
