Boise State Names Stacy Pearson As Vice President of Finance

The State Board of Education approved Aug. 12 the appointment of Stacy Pearson as Boise State University’s vice president of finance and administration. Pearson has filled the duties of that office in an interim capacity since fall 2003 when Harry “Buster” Neel left to take a position in Nevada. Her appointment becomes effective Monday. “Stacy Pearson has done an excellent job of filling in these last few months as interim VP,” said Boise State President Bob Kustra. “I am delighted that the search committee thought so highly of Stacy’s performance and ability. I have enjoyed working with her and have complete confidence in her ability to keep Boise State in sound fiscal shape in these challenging times.” Pearson said she is honored and excited to continue to be a part of Boise State’s bright future. Pearson is a certified public accountant who has a master's of public administration degree from Boise State. She has been an administrator at Boise State since 1995. In 2003, she was named Financial Executive of the Year by the Pacific Northwest Council of the Institute of Management Accountants. IMA is the leading international trade association for corporate accounting and finance professionals. Pearson serves on multiple executive committees on campus, is active in the Western Association of College and University Business Officers and serves as faculty for that group’s business management institute. Before coming to Boise State, Pearson worked as the director of internal auditing in the chancellor's office for the Oregon University System, the Idaho State Board of Education, and the Department of Environmental Conservation in Juneau.
