Boise State Hosts Latino Photo Exhibit As Part Of Intercultural Remix

The Boise State University Cultural Center will host a photography exhibit by Boise State student Jesus Gonzalez from Aug. 26 through the end of September. The exhibit, titled “Latinos on Campus,” will feature photos of Boise State students involved in campus activities. Gonzalez has been art director for the Organización de Estudiantes Latino-Americanos (OELA) art show for the past two years and his work has been displayed at both the Boise State Cultural Center and the Hispanic Cultural Center in Nampa. The exhibition opening is part of the free Intercultural Remix reception from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 26, in the Cultural Center located on the second floor of the Student Union. The event is sponsored by the Cultural Center and the International Programs Office. In addition to the art show, the reception will feature a variety of cultural finger foods and other refreshments, music, activities, prizes, traditional cultural dress, arts and crafts demonstrations and a mini ethnic organization fair. All who attend will be eligible to win door prizes and will have opportunities to participate in hands-on activities organized by the staff. The purpose of the event is to introduce students, faculty, staff and the community to the services and programs offered by the Cultural Center and International Programs Office.
