New Center At Boise
State Focuses On Idaho History and Politics
|
The State Board of Education recently approved the
formation of the Center for Idaho History and Politics at
Boise State University. The Center applies the methods and
insights of history to political and ecological problems
currently facing the region and state. Sponsored by the
College of Social Sciences and Public Affairs, the new
Center will promote the study of history and politics
through publications, exhibitions, forums, workshops and
tours. More information can be found at
www.boisestate.edu/history/idaho.
Organizers hope to broaden the community-based scholarship
of a non-academic audience and use historic downtown Boise
as a laboratory for the study of changes in the urban
landscape. Projects sponsored by the Center include
workshops, books, lectures and historical exhibits.
