Nationally recognized health
education scholar Dr. Elbert Glover will present a lecture
on “Treating Nicotine Dependence” at a Web conference from
1-2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 27, in Room 210 of the
Simplot-Micron Instructional Technology Center, next to the
Business Building on the Boise State University campus. The
lecture is a free event and everyone is welcome to attend.
Glover, a professor at West
Virginia University School of Medicine, is the 2004-05
American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation
and Dance Scholar. AAHPERD is sponsoring the Web conference
nationally. The Boise State Department of Kinesiology,
Department of Community and Environmental Health, and Center
for Health, Wellness and Counseling Services, along with the
Idaho Regional Alcohol Drug Awareness Resource Network
Center, are sponsoring Boise State’s participation.
Glover’s talk will focus on
nicotine addiction and the rationale behind treating
nicotine dependence, including the latest treatment options
and nicotine replacement products. Community members, as
well as Boise State faculty, staff and students, are
encouraged to come and listen to one of the most highly
recognized and outstanding scholars in the field of health
education.
The American Association for
Health Education is offering 1.5 hours of Category I
continuing education credits for Certified Health Education
Specialists. Individuals interested in receiving continuing
education credits can sign up on the roster provided at the
conference at no cost.
