November Fettuccine
Forum Looks at Election Results
|
The second
installment of the revived Fettuccine Forum, a lecture
series on the future and past of Boise and the Treasure
Valley, will be held Thursday, Nov. 4, in the Rose Room in
the historic Union Block, 718 W, Idaho Street. Doors open at
5 p.m. and the 40-minute presentation begins at 5:30 p.m.
Admission is free; food and drinks will be available for
purchase.
The forum will be held two days after one of the most
divisive elections in modern time, the results of which will
have a lasting impact on Boise. Boise State University
public policy professor Jim Weatherby will serve as
moderator for a lively discussion of the election results
and their impact on our area. State Sen. Elliot Werk (D) and
state Rep. Steve Smylie (R) will field questions from
Weatherby and the forum audience regarding election results
and the political ramifications for Idaho.
The First Thursday event invites the public to interact with
politicians, artists, historians, activists, advocates and
professionals who treasure life in our booming valley and
strive to make it a better place. The forum is cosponsored
by Boise State’s Center for Idaho History and Politics and
the Boise City Office of the Mayor. Upcoming speakers in the
series include:
Feb. 3, “Creative Paths to Municipal Growth” — Nancy Napier,
Boise State University
March 3, “A fog Over Boise: The Hidden Cost of Dirty Air” —
Rob Sterling, Micron
Technology
April 7, “The Arts and Economic Prosperity” — Julie Numbers
Smith, Boise Arts
Commission
May 5, “Boise and a Sense of Place” — Robert Sims, Boise
State University

and Public Affairs at Boise State University; Boise State
Radio; Villano's Specialty Market & Deli; Grape Escape and
