David
Abel, author of the chapbook Cut, and William L. Fox, author
of Sand, will present readings of their poetry at 7:30 p.m.
on Friday, Oct. 29, in the Boise State Student Union
Farnsworth Room. The reading is presented by the Boise State
English Department�s Master of Fine Arts writing program and
is free and open to the public.
Abel, an editor and book dealer in Portland, Ore., has
participated in performances such as �Permanent Red� with
Tim DuRoche at a Northwest independent art event called
Modern Zoo and has appeared with the JJ MAD poetry ensemble.
His recently published works include the poem �Threnos,�
designed and sewn on a 37-foot ribbon by the artist
Katherine Kuehn, and �Conduction,� which appeared in the
exhibition catalogue Conduit.
Fox, a poet, artist, editor, publisher and arts consultant,
has published 13 books and chapbooks of poetry in three
countries and his poetry has appeared in 60 magazines. He is
the founding editor of Neon, the arts letter of the Nevada
State Council on the Arts, founder of the West Coast Poetry
Review and Press, and has been the literary advisor to the
University of Nevada, Reno�s literary journal Brushfire.

Cathy Wagner, Nov. 12, and Doug Unger, Nov. 19.
