Red Carpet Premiere of Student Film at Boise State Oct. 28

Hollywood comes to Boise State for the premiere of Sleepy Hollow 3, a student-produced spoof of Tim Burton’s Sleepy Hollow. The event will be at the Special Events Center on Thursday, Oct. 28, and will feature all the glamour and glitz of a Hollywood premiere. See the directors and stars walk down the red carpet; dress in costume and receive a free bag of popcorn and the chance to win prizes; stay after the show and meet the directors and cast.  Doors open at 6:30 p.m.; show starts at 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public and free parking will be available in the Student Union visitor’s lot. The film, rated PG with some violence, is sponsored by Student activities. For more information, call 426-1223.

Directed by Jake Lymon, with the help of assistant director Kyle Sutton and a crew of friends, Sleepy Hollow 3 is filled with blood, horror and decapitation. The plot brings the story back to Washington Irving’s original plot of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.  Ichabod Crane has left his position as constable to be a schoolteacher in order to lead a simpler life. Things go wrong, however, when Katrina VanTassel and a “disgusting witch” plot to use the Headless Horseman to take over the town and Crane is compelled to save the day.

Sleepy Hollow 3 is the largest film to come out of Jazzed Productions, a local production company created by Jake Lymon. With the help of Kyle Sutton and a crew of friends, Lymon has produced two other full-length films, including Awake Solid: a Sequel to Sleepy Hollow, as well as some short films.  Lymon is a freshman at Boise State and plans to become a filmmaker.
