Events Mark Veterans Day At Boise State University

Boise State University will celebrate freedom with a full day of events on Thursday, Nov. 11, aimed at reminding the campus and community of veterans’ service to their country, especially Boise State alumni and students on active duty. Free hot chocolate and yellow ribbons will be handed out on the Quad north of the Administration Building from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. People will be encouraged to sign a card supporting troops in Iraq, and yellow magnetic car ribbons will be available for purchase. A reception will be held from 4-5:30 p.m. in the Student Union Jordan A Ballroom. Following presentation of the flag by a color guard, retired two-star General Ben Doty will speak. Throughout the day, veterans are encouraged to wear identifying regalia and large yellow ribbons will line University Drive and Lincoln Street. In addition, Bronco Athletics will send football game tapes to the troops.
