The
Volunteer Services Board, a Boise State University student
organization, will host “Blanket Boise” as part of the
National Hunger & Homelessness Week Nov. 15-19.
The VSB-sponsored event, designed as part
of a nationwide effort to raise the awareness of
homelessness in America and promote volunteerism and civic
engagement, will feature a Hunger Banquet at 6 p.m. Nov. 16
in the Jordan Ballroom of the Student Union. Admission is $5
or $4 with a can of food.
Other events will include a press
conference on hunger awareness at noon, Nov. 15 on the patio
of the Student Union, Agency Day from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 17
in the Jordan Ballroom foyer, and a community dinner for the
homeless at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 19 in the Hatch Ballroom of the
Student Union.
VSB is seeking
other student organizations and individuals who are
interested in participating in the week’s events. For more
