Country Legend Merle Haggard At The Morrison Center Jan. 28 - Tickets On Sale Dec. 20

Country music legend Merle Haggard will appear in concert at 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28, in the Velma V. Morrison Center at Boise State University.

Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 20 at the Morrison Center Box Office, online at www.idahotickets.com, at any Select-a-Seat outlet, or charged by phone at (208) 426-1110 or (208) 426-1494. Tickets are $32.50 (additional charges and fees may apply).

Merle Haggard is best known for his hit songs “(All My Friends Are Gonna Be) Strangers,” “I’m a Lonesome Fugitive,” “The Legend of Bonnie and Clyde,” “Okie From Muskokee,” “Yesterday’s Wine,” “Sing Me Back Home,” “Silver Wings,” “That’s the Way Love Goes,” and literally dozens of others produced since he scored his first hit, “Sing a Sad Song,” in 1963.

Integrally related to all of his writing and performing skills is Haggard’s dedication and passion for researching the history of the music that inspires him. His deep love for the roots and the development of numerous forms of music is reflected in his recordings. Over his long and illustrious career, he has at times served as the pulse of an ever-lonesome fugitive, the voice of the Okie with an attitude and has hung his soul out on the line. He has honed his music so uniquely that university students examine the sociological implications of his words.
