In the aftermath of the devastating
tsunami in Asia and in an effort to aid Boise State’s
tsunami relief effort, an additional workshop has been added
to the university’s weeklong Martin Luther King Jr. Human
Rights Celebration.
Rick Mitchell will present “The Many Faces of
the Red Cross” from 3:15-4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, in the
Student Union Farnsworth Room. This free workshop will focus
on how different Red Cross societies work together in the
collection and distribution of funds locally, nationally and
internationally. Special attention will be given to the
Asian tsunami relief effort and the challenges faced in the
distribution of funds.
The Boise State MLK week celebration features
a March to the Capitol, a poetry slam contest, workshops,
films and a keynote address by Martin Luther King III at 7
p.m. Friday, Jan. 21. For a complete schedule of events
