JAN. 17-FEB. 2

“Ethnic Landmarks” exhibit. Student Union Gallery. Open 7 a.m.-11 p.m. daily. A look at the places that make up Boise’s ethnic history. Free. Call 426-4636.

 

JAN. 25-26

Student Organization Fair. Student Union. 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Get information on how to become involved in student clubs and organizations at Boise State. Free. Call 426-4636.

 

JAN. 25-FEB. 12

“The Works” student exhibition. Liberal Arts Gallery. Open 10 a.m.-6 p.m. daily. Works by students of all levels in any media will be juried by art professionals. Awards will be presented at an opening reception, Friday, Jan. 28, from 7-9 p.m. Free. Call 426-3994.

 

TUESDAY, JAN. 25

Ficks and Rogers, horn and piano duo. Morrison Center Recital Hall. 7:30 p.m. The Department of Music presents guest artists Jennie Ficks on horn and Sean Rogers on piano. Tickets are $5 general, $3 for seniors and free for students of all ages and Boise State faculty and staff. Call 426-3980.

 

JAN 26-27

International Wildlife Film Festival. The Flicks, 646 Fulton St. 4:30, 7 and 9:15 p.m. Stunning footage of wildlife from around the world is showcased in a variety of award-winning films. Tickets are $7.50 general, $5.50 matinees, children, seniors and students at the door. Proceeds benefit Bald Eagle Days and conservation and environmental education efforts of the Idaho Bird Observatory. Presented by Boise State University’s Idaho Bird Observatory as part of Bald Eagle Days. Call 334-4199.

 

WEDNESDAY, JAN. 26

Idaho WWAMI Mini Medical School. St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center, Anderson Center. 7-9 p.m. Five consecutive Wednesdays geared toward educating the general public on mental health and illness. Dates include Jan. 26, Feb. 2, Feb. 9, Feb. 16, Feb. 23. Sponsored by University of Washington Medical School, Boise State, St. Luke’s, Saint Alphonsus, University of Idaho and numerous other sponsors. Registration is $35, due by Jan. 18. SATURDAY, JAN. 29

Bald Eagle Days wildlife viewing and education day. Idaho Shakespeare Festival, 5657 Warm Springs Blvd. 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Enjoy raptor viewing, educational displays and many other activities as part of the Bald Eagle Days. Free. Call 334-4199.

Chicago Brass. Special Events Center. 8 p.m. Called “one of the premier ensembles of our time” by the Washington Post and Chicago Tribune, Chicago’s original brass quintet possesses the technical and musical mastery needed to perform music of all periods and styles.
