Professor Kyger C. Lohmann of the University of Michigan
will lecture on �Unraveling the Archive of Climate Change
from the Marine Record: Integration of Isotopic and
Elemental Proxies in Molluscan Carbonates� from 3:40 - 4:30
p.m. on Monday, Jan. 31, in Room 118 of the Multipurpose
Building at Boise State University.
Lohmann�s visit, sponsored by the United States Science
Support Program (USSP) Distinguished Lecturer Series, is
free and open to the public.
Lohmann participated in two oceanic expeditions through the
National Science Foundation�s Ocean Drilling Program
including Leg 159 in the eastern equatorial Atlantic in 1995
and Leg 208 in the south Atlantic in 2003. His areas of
expertise include oceanography, geology, climate change,
paleontology, and trace element and isotope geochemistry.
The
USSP�s Distinguished Lecturer Series brings the results of
Ocean Drilling Program research to students at the
undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as the wider
geosciences community. Since 1991distinguished
lecturers have given presentations to audiences at more than
250 U.S. colleges, universities and organizations.
