— Honor Band Concert:
The Boise State All-Star High School Honor Band features 130
outstanding instrumentalists from the Treasure Valley. Guest
conductor is Tim Salzman from the University of Washington.
Morrison Center Main Hall. 7:30 p.m. $5 general, $3 for
seniors and free for students of all ages and Boise State
faculty and staff.
• Feb. 9
— Concerto Aria Auditions:
Talented Boise State vocal
and instrumental students vie for the chance to perform at
the annual Concerto Aria Concert in May. Morrison Center
Recital Hall. 7 p.m. Free.
• Feb. 10
— Vocal Jazz Festival:
The annual two-day Vocal Jazz Festival begins with a public
concert featuring Boise State’s Vocal Jazz group, Portlander
Nancy King accompanied by Steve Christofferson, and local
jazz singer Jeff Baker. Special Events Center. 7:30 p.m. $3.

Feb. 13
— Faculty Brass Quintet: The quintet, consisting of
Brad Peters and Marcellus Brown on trumpet, David Saunders
on horn, David Mathie on trombone and Michael Fischer on
tuba, will play an eclectic mix of music for the Faculty
Artist Series concert. Selections include a set of
Renaissance dances, Malcolm Arnold’s “Quintet for Brass,”
Sylvain Cambreling’s “Divertissement” and an arrangement of
the popular song “A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square.”
Morrison Center Recital Hall. 4 p.m. $5 general, $3 for
seniors and free for students of all ages and Boise State
faculty and staff.

Feb. 16 — Treasure Valley Concert Band:
The Treasure Valley Concert Band is joined by the Les Bois
Junior High School band for a “Red, White, Green and Blue”
concert. The bands will play songs from Italy, Mexico and
the United States. The evening includes a tuba solo by Boise
State music professor Michael Fischer and a piece titled
“Los Coyotes” by local composer Carol Matthews. Les Bois
Junior High School, 4150 E. Grand Forest Dr., Boise. 7:30
p.m. Free.

Feb. 18 — Osiris Piano Trio:
The
Boise Chamber Music Society presents the Osiris Piano Trio,
consisting of Dutch musicians Ellen Corver (piano), Peter
Brunt (violin) and Larissa Groeneveld (cello). The Trio’s
extensive repertoire ranges from Haydn to the composers of
today. Morrison Center Recital Hall. 8 p.m. $20/$15. Call
426-1216 for tickets. A free “Morning Music” program will be
at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 19, also in the Morrison Center Recital
Hall.

Feb. 20 — Medieval Music: The
Academy of St. Giles (Boise State’s early music ensemble)
and the eight-voice Minstrels of Birnam Wood perform parts
of Guillaume Dufay’s “Missa Caput,” madrigals of Tudor
England, and 14th-century Italian dances and court music.
Morrison Center Recital Hall. 7:30 p.m. $5 general, $3 for
seniors and free for students of all ages and Boise State
faculty and staff.

Feb. 23 — Treasure Valley Concert Band:
The Treasure Valley Concert Band is joined by the Kuna High
School band for a “Red, White, Green and Blue” concert. The

Feb. 26 — Idaho Tuba-Euphonium
Society: Members of the
Idaho Tuba-Euphonium Society perform original and
transcribed works for tuba and euphonium. ITES members
include adults, students in grades 7-12 and BSU students who
enjoy playing the tuba and euphonium. Morrison Center
Recital Hall. 1 p.m.
Free.
• Feb. 27 —
Richard Maynard, saxophone: Faculty Artist Series
concert. Morrison Center Recital Hall. 4 p.m. $5 general, $3
for seniors and free for students of all ages and Boise
State faculty and staff.
