COBA Brings Dances
of Africa, Caribbean To Boise State

The Collective of Black Artists
(COBA) will present a concert featuring the music and dance
of Africa and the Caribbean at 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, in
the Boise State University Special Events Center. The
concert is part of the university’s Global Expressions
Series featuring music, spoken word and dance from a variety
of cultures. Tickets are $10 general and $5 for students,
seniors, Boise State employees and alumni through
Select-a-Seat.
COBA is a group of professional
artists dedicated to the creation and production of dance
and music preserving the cultural traditions of the African
Diaspora. The group’s repertoire consists of traditional
African dance, music and folklore; Caribbean indigenous folk
dance, music and ritual; and modern and contemporary works.
Called “a company that makes you sit up and take notice for
all the right reasons” by Globe and Mail, COBA has
performed throughout the United States and Canada.
