February 8, 2005 Boise State Comedy Club Kicks Off With An Open Mic Feb. 28

Would-be comics are invited to participate in an open mic comedy competition at 7 p.m., Monday, Feb. 28, in the Special Events Center at Boise State University. At this first round of the three-part Boise State Comedy Club series, the audience will vote for a small group of finalists who will receive a cash prize and the opportunity to perform at the second round in March. To sign up to compete, register by Monday, Feb. 21, at the Student Union Information Desk or The Funny Bone Comedy Club, 405 S. 8th Street, #110, Boise. Both the competition and the event are free and open to the public.   The second round of the Boise State Comedy Club series will take place on Monday, March 28, when finalists compete as they open for the New Generation Comedy Tour with professional comedian Kyle Grooms. Once again, the audience will vote for the winner, whose identity will not be revealed until the final round on Monday, April 25.   The Boise State Comedy Club series is presented by the Student Programs Board.
