The Selland College of Applied Technology at Boise State
University will host a Career Expo for future students from
4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, in the Student Union.
The event will feature 40 interactive displays with hands-on
activities, demonstrations of latest technologies, culinary
and horticulture exhibits and more. Prospective students,
families and friends are invited to attend. Employers will
find information about evening and online skill upgrade
training, including a new workplace Spanish series with
classes geared for specific industries such as healthcare,
construction and landscaping.
This expo is planned in conjunction with Professional
Technical Education Week.
“This is the only event each year where you can see all of
the programs we offer, talk to industry representatives,
enjoy dynamic displays and get all the information you need
to start school in September,” said Larry Barnhardt, Selland
College dean.
The event will also feature hourly seminars on financial
aid, the admissions process and more. There will be booths
for those who need to obtain a GED through the Adult Basic
Education program and information on services for displaced
homemakers and single parents. Refreshments will be served.
The Selland College at Boise State allows students to attend
regardless of previous education experience. For more
