SUNDAY, FEB. 20
Academy of St. Giles and Minstrels of Birnam Wood. Morrison Center Recital Hall. 7:30 p.m. BSU’s early music ensemble joins with the eight-voice Minstrels of Birnam Wood to perform medieval music. Selections include parts of the Guillaume Dufay “Missa Caput,” madrigals of Tudor England, and 14th Century Italian dances and court music. Tickets are $5 general, $3 for seniors and free for students of all ages and Boise State faculty and staff. Call 426-3980.

National Engineers Week. College of Engineering. A week of events open to the public, including lab demonstrations, displays, an open house, lectures and other events. Free. For more information, call 426-4432.

 
TUESDAY, FEB. 22

Brown Bag Video Discussion. Cultural Center. Noon. Screening of documentary Trafficking in Human Beings followed by discussion. Free. Call 426-5950.

Treasure Valley Concert Band. Kuna High School. 1360 West Boise Street, Kuna. 7:30 p.m. The Treasure Valley Concert Band is joined by the Kuna High School band for a “Red, White, Green and Blue” concert. The bands will play songs from Italy, Mexico and the United States and the evening will include a tuba solo by Boise State music professor Michael Fischer and a piece titled “Los Coyotes” by local composer Carol Matthews. “Terror from the Sea” tsunami lecture. Location TBA. 7:30 p.m. Boise State seismologist Jim Zollweg presents the first lecture in a series titled “Terror from the Sea: Understanding the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami,” about how earthquakes generate tsunamis, how they cross oceans, how warning systems work and where a tsunami will occur. “Vagina Monologues.” Special Events Center. 8 p.m. Based on interviews with more than 200 everyday women, “The Vagina Monologues” focuses on the diversity of women’s experiences. Presented by Boise State Women’s Center. Tickets are $5-$10 through Select-a-Seat. Call 426-1494.
