The BSU Big Band Tour Kickoff Jazz Bash features the award
winning Boise State Big Band with special guest artists Dave
Sills on saxophone and Dean Koba on drums. They�ll be joined
by bands from local high schools. Special Events Center. 7

ages and Boise State faculty and staff.
March 5 � Symphony Orchestra:
The BSU Symphony Orchestra
presents a program featuring Hector Berliez�s �Symphonie
Fantastique� and Michael Fischer performing the world
premiere of Barbara York�s tuba concerto. Morrison Center
Recital Hall. 7:30 p.m. $5 general, $3 for seniors and free
for students of all ages and Boise State faculty and staff.
March 6 � Faculty Artist Series, James Cook:
This concert of violin, cello and piano music features BSU
music faculty member James Cook on piano and Boise
Philharmonic string members Phyllis Saunders and Arturo
Chavez. Morrison Center Recital Hall. 4 p.m. $5 general, $3
for seniors and free for students of all ages and Boise
State faculty and staff.
March 11 �
St. Lawrence Strings: Geoff Nuttall, Barry
Shiffman, Lesley Robertson and Chris Costanza make up this
world-class chamber ensemble known for its imaginative,
spontaneous music. Morrison
Center Recital Hall. 8 p.m. $20/$15. Free �Morning Music�
master class at 10:30 a.m. March 12, also in the Morrison
Center Recital Hall. Presented by Boise Chamber Music

Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble: The BSU Tuba-Euphonium
Ensemble, under the direction of music professor Michael
Fischer, and student soloists present works from the
Renaissance through the 20th century. Morrison Center
Recital Hall. 7:30 p.m. $5 general, $3 for seniors and free
for students of all ages and Boise State faculty and
staff.
March 16 � Flute Choir:
The Boise
State Flute Choir and Flute Quartet, chosen to perform at
the National Flute Association�s annual convention, perform
works by Gianella, Holst, Kennedy, Offermans and Ravel.

seniors and free for students of all ages and Boise State

March 28
� Angelo Manzo: Guest artist Angelo Manzo, a University
of Missouri tuba professor, will be accompanied by Peggy Jo
Purdy and Michael Fischer. Morrison Center Recital Hall.
