The
world of cartoon superheroes comes to life on the stage
during Idaho Dance Theatre’s dazzling dance performance of
Super-Dancers at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 12, at the
BSU Special Events Center. This special public presentation
of IDT’s Educational Outreach Program is designed to bring
the excitement, athleticism and pure fun of dance to
elementary school age children and their families.
The audience will take an imaginative
journey with dancing superheroes as they begin their search
for a monster that has been roaming nearby. The plot
thickens as the dancers begin to worry about what they will
do if they actually catch up with the monster. This leads
to a decision to develop some very special dancing
superpowers in order to overcome their fears and
successfully confront the monster. The talented troupe of
dancers then learns how to utilize turning, leaping and
balancing, along with speed, strength and coordination, to
ensure all ends well. A vibrant blend of hip-hop, ballet,
tap and contemporary dance is used throughout the
performance to provide a spellbinding experience for
audience members.
