The March installment of the revived Fettuccine Forum, a lecture series on the future and past of Boise and the Treasure Valley, will be held Thursday, March. 3, in the Rose Room in the historic Union Block, 718 W. Idaho Street. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the 40-minute presentation begins at 5:30 p.m. Admission and appetizers are free; a cash bar will be available.

Rob Sterling, corporate environment and safety manager for Micron Technology, will speak on “A Fog Over Boise: The Hidden Cost of Dirty Air.”  Sterling, one of the Treasure Valley’s leading authorities on air pollution, will offer solutions for cleaning the air.

In addition, Leslie Blackburn, program head of the Boise State University Center for Horticulture Technology, and horticulture student Barbara McEvoy will display indoor plants that help clean the air, and landscape plants that help conserve water. BSU graduate history student Bob Kent will display his research on the history of Boise’s municipal water system and Boise photographer-writer Diane Ronayne will preview her public art commissioned work on water and wastewater.

The First Thursday event invites the public to interact with politicians, artists, historians, activists, advocates and professionals who treasure life in our booming valley and strive to make it a better place. The forum is co-sponsored by Boise State’s Center for Idaho History and Politics and the Boise City Office of the Mayor. The final two speakers in this year’s series are:

- April 7, “The Arts and Economic Prosperity” — Julie Numbers Smith, Boise Arts

 Commission

- May 5, “Boise and a Sense of Place” — Robert Sims, Boise State University

Additional sponsors include the College of Social Sciences and Public Affairs at Boise State University; Boise State Radio; Villano’s Specialty Market & Deli; Grape Escape and KBCI Channel 2.
