News Release March 8, 2005 NPR's Kevin Klose Is Coming To Idaho
Kevin Klose, president of National Public Radio, will be in Idaho from Wednesday, March 23, to Friday, March 25, to meet with NPR affiliates and friends of public radio. Klose will have a busy schedule during his visit. He will attend a breakfast with the Ketchum/ Sun Valley Chamber of Commerce and Visitor’s Bureau on the morning of Thursday, March 24. He will then attend a luncheon with the Rotary Club in downtown Boise at noon. That afternoon he will participate in a meet and greet reception and discussion with the Boise State Radio Tower Club, members and underwriters of Boise State Radio, and faculty and students of Boise State University. The meet and greet will be at 3:30 p.m. in the Boise State Student Union Jordon Ballroom. On Friday, March 25, Klose will attend a luncheon given by the City Club. Klose is an award-winning author, international broadcasting executive and former Washington Post correspondent. Before he joined NPR as director in 1998, Klose served as the director of U.S. International Broadcasting, where he oversaw the U.S. Government’s global radio and television communications and marketing. Prior to this he served as president of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL), broadcasting to Central Europe and the former USSR.
