News Release March 24, 2005 Metalsmith Lisa Gralnick To Present Lecture
Gralnick is an internationally known metalsmith and professor at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisc. Her latest body of work, “The Gold Standard,” is meant to “conduct an inquiry into the value systems through which contemporary society negotiates progress, accumulates knowledge, and promotes physical comfort through consumerism,” she has said. Gralnick is the recipient of a Tiffany Foundation Grant, two National Endowment for the Arts Fellowships, and four fellowships from the New York Foundation for the Arts.
