CIFS Department Will Give Banner To Lake Hazel
Middle School
The College of Education’s Department of Curriculum, Instruction and
Foundational Studies will present a banner to Lake Hazel Middle School at 5
p.m. Thursday at the school in Meridian.
Lake Hazel Middle School has been designated a professional development
school by Boise State University, and the banner is in recognition of the
partnership between BSU and the school.
The professional development school program is a series of partnerships with
Idaho school districts and BSU’s colleges of Education, Arts and Science,
Social Sciences and Public Affairs, and Business and Economics. The
program’s goals are to increase school performance, prepare teaching
candidates, further professional development for school personnel and
initiate inquiry into teaching and learning.
Professor Michael Heikkinen, chair of CIFS, is BSU’s liaison with the Lake
Hazel Middle School Professional Development School.
