SATURDAY, APRIL 23 Velvet Revolver and the Electric Wonderland Show with special guest Hoobastank. Taco Bell Arena. 8 p.m. Velvet Revolver (Scott Weiland, Slash, Duff McKagan, Matt Sorum and Dave Kushner) performs modern rock with a sense of danger and beauty. MONDAY, APRIL 25 Margaret Fuller lecture. Student Union Bishop Barnwell Room. 3:30-4:30 p.m. Margaret Fuller, author of several guidebooks on the Idaho back country, speaks about “Idaho’s Mountains Lakes and Canyons.” Presented by the Department of Geosciences and Center for Geophysical Investigation of the Shallow Subsurface. Monday Night Laughs. Student Union Jordan Ballroom D. 7 p.m. Monday Night Laughs, the spring semester comedy series, concludes with The New Generation of Comedy Tour. Idaho Flute Society’s Flute Ensembles Spring Concert. APRIL 27-30 Theatre Majors Association Spring Showcase. Morrison Center Stage II. 7:30 p.m. Produced entirely by Theatre Department students, the Theatre Majors Association Showcase provides opportunities to highlight all theater disciplines including playwriting, lighting design, scenic design, costume design, stage management, technical skills, directing and acting. The show also serves as the main fundraiser for the organization, which assists students in attending workshops, conferences and regional performances. FRIDAY, APRIL 29 Kathy Kelly lecture. Special Events Center. 7 p.m. Peace activist Kathy Kelly has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize three times since 2000. In 1996 she helped to found Voices in the Wilderness, a group that bears witness to the suffering which the U.S./U.N.-imposed sanctions have visited on the people of Iraq. Percussion Ensemble Concert.
