Idaho Ashrae Chapter
announces boise State scholarship winners
The Idaho Chapter of the American Society of Heating and Refrigeration and
Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) has awarded $500 scholarships to Boise
State University Mechanical Engineering students Sarah Jean Scherrer of
Boise and Brian Jon Jacques of Nampa.
Scherrer is a junior in the Selland College of Technology School of
Mechanical Engineering. She is an active member of the Mechanical
Engineering Club and the Society of Women Engineers, a volunteer for Toys
For Tots and the Saint Alphonsus Festival of Trees, and a member of the
Mini-Baja Team, which built a model car for regional competition for the
American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
Jacques is also a junior in the School of Mechanical engineering and a
member of the Mini-Baja Team. He has four years of experience in residential
and commercial construction. He is interested in designing HVAC systems that
are more efficient.
