THROUGH MAY 9

Clay and Fire, sale and exhibit. Gallery I (Liberal Arts Building). 10 a.m.-5 p.m. A biannual tradition at Boise State, Clay and Fire includes hundreds of ceramic pieces ranging from elegant to exotic made by Boise State students, faculty and alumni. A portion of the proceeds go to Boise State�s Visiting Artists in Ceramics program. Call 426-3994.

 

MAY 8-12

Finals Relief. Student Union and throughout campus. Receive a complimentary massage, a healthy snack, and unwind with stress-reducing activities during finals week. TUESDAY, MAY 10

 

Henry Darcy Distinguished Lecture. Micron Engineering Center Room 106. 11
a.m. Free. Kip Solomon, a professor in the Department of Geology and
Geophysics at the University of Utah discusses "Inert Gas Tracers in Ground
Water." Hosted by Boise State's Department of Civil Engineering. Free

Graduate Barbecue. Student Union North Parking Lot. Noon-2 p.m. President Kustra and deans will serve up barbecue favorites to graduating seniors. Each graduating senior can receive two free tickets; additional tickets are $5, available at the Student Union Information Desk. Call 426-4636.

Winged Migration,� film. MK Nature Center, 600 S. Walnut Street. 7 p.m. Five film crews follow bird migrations through 40 countries and seven continents. Presented as part of International Migratory Bird Day celebrations. Limited seating available on a first-come basis. Co-sponsored by Boise State�s Idaho Bird Observatory and other organizations. Hal Holbrook in �Mark Twain Tonight!� Morrison Center Main Hall. 8 p.m. Hal Holbrook has been portraying Mark Twain on stage for more than 50 years and 2,000 shows, including an off-Broadway run in 1959, a Broadway run in 1966 that earned him a Tony Award, and a 1967 primetime version. Presented by Broadway in Boise. Tickets are $21-$39.50 through Select-a-Seat. Call 426-1494.

 

SATURDAY, MAY 14

 

International Migratory Bird Day 2005. MK Nature Center, 600 S. Walnut Street. Annual family event celebrates the amazing journeys of migratory birds as they travel between winter and summer habitats. 8:30 and 10 a.m., bird walks; 9 a.m.-noon, bird banding; 1 and 3 p.m., birds of prey program with live birds; 11 am.-4 p.m., kids activities including face painting, bird crafts, bird beak adaptation activity and owl pellet dissection. Max Hollander and Brad Peters, Boise Philharmonic.
