News Release May 10, 2005 Boise Choristers To Present 'A Night With The Oscars'
The Boise Choristers, a women’s choral group, will present A Night with the Oscars: Hollywood and Hammerstein, at 7:30 p.m. May 25-26 at the Morrison Center Recital Hall. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted and are encouraged.
All proceeds from this annual event will be used to fund a Boise State University music scholarship, and the winner of the 2004-2005 scholarship will perform at this year’s concert.
A Night with the Oscars includes a selection of sacred and classical songs, songs that have won Oscars, and selections chosen to honor songwriter Oscar Hammerstein’s 100th birthday. The Boise Choristers will sing under the direction of Tamra Williams.
The Choristers were established around 1918 and have given annual concerts for more than 60 years. They have sung as part of the local opera chorus and have traveled around the country to entertain at conventions of the National Federation of Music, with which they are associated.
