Event of special note: “It’s Our Party,” see May 21 THROUGH MAY 16 “April Showers” student exhibition. Gallery I, Liberal Arts Building, first floor. 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Monday-Friday; noon-5 p.m., Saturday. A collection of books created by Boise State students on “dissolvo” water-soluble spy paper. Free. THROUGH JUNE 1 “James Castle: From Icehouse unto Early Attic,” exhibit. Student Union Gallery. 7 a.m.-11 p.m. daily. This exhibit features rare, early Castle works discovered in a Garden Valley icehouse. The display also includes additional art works and visual narratives that were recently discovered in Caldwell. The owners of the Early Attic, an Idaho City antique store, bought the works for $10 at an estate auction. Free. Call 426-4636.
SUNDAY, MAY 15 Loverboy. Taco Bell Arena. 7:30 p.m. Loverboy’s blend of emotional blues-based vocals, heavy guitar and danceable rock beat is inspired by a variety of musical styles. Tickets are $20 through Professional Firefighters of Idaho, call 1-877-653-0599; $25 at the door.
MONDAY, MAY 16 Lyle Smith Golf Classic. Spurwing Country Club, 6800 N. Spurwing Way, Meridian. 10:30 a.m. registration; 1 p.m. shotgun start. $250 per person. Proceeds benefit Athletic Summer School scholarships. Call 887-1800.

SATURDAY, MAY 21 “It’s Our Party.” Morrison Center Main Hall. 7:30 p.m. The Seattle Women’s Chorus salutes the great girl-groups and singers of the ‘50s and ‘60s in this musical performance featuring special guest Captain Smartypants. Tickets are $18.50-$23.50 through Select-a-Seat. Presented by Idaho Voices for Diversity and Flying House Productions. Call 426-1494. River Safety/Rescue seminar. The Boise River. 10 a.m.-3 p.m. A seminar taught primarily on the water, designed for white water rafters and kayakers. Tickets are $35. Registration deadline is 5 p.m. May 12. Call 426-1946.
