News Release May 25, 2005 Boise State Offers The Script: Editing, Acting and Directing for Film and TV Boise State University’s Division of Extended Studies will present Acting and Directing for Film and Television II, a workshop with Farideh Fardjam, in June. Fardjam is a directing and script writing graduate of the prestigious Amsterdam Film and Television Academy and is a versatile international filmmaker, theater director, playwright and award-winning author. With more than 30 years of prize-winning writing and directing experience, she has directed theater in France, Germany, the Netherlands and the United States and her films have been shown at festivals throughout Europe. Fardjam studied directing with Stella Adler and Jack Garfein. She received her bachelor of arts degree in French Literature in Paris. Designed for all practicing and aspiring directors and actors, the three-credit workshop includes instruction in breaking down the script and scene; maintaining emotional continuity and character development in a non-chronological shooting sequence; establishing a professional language between director and actor for immediate results; adjusting acting for the camera; auditioning; and basic information about the camera. The workshop will be held from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, June 3-19, on the Boise State campus. Offered for either Communication or Theater Arts academic credit, the workshop cost is $533.55 for undergraduates and $650.55 for graduates. Students may register at http://broncoweb.boisestate.edu.
