News Release July 11, 2005 EduFest Brings National Education Experts To Boise State University
Nationally renowned experts will speak July 24-29 at Boise State University during Edufest, an annual conference that focuses on gifted and talented education. The ninth annual conference is presented by Boise State University�s College of Education in association with the Council on Exceptional Children and ITAG/SAGE, the Idaho association for the gifted.
Edufest 2005 includes 26 weeklong workshops and additional special topics presentations. The year�s conference also will include Parent Day, which will concentrate on how parents can contribute to the intellectual and emotional health of gifted children and adolescents, and a Counselor and Pyschologist Institute.
Five education experts will give keynote speeches during the week. James Webb will speak about �Motivation and Underachievement�; Tom Hebert will speak about �Understanding the Social and Emotional Lives of Gifted Young People: Lessons I�ve Learned from My Students�; Temple Grandin will speak about �The Importance of Developing Talent�; Cloyce Weaver will speak about �Social, Emotional, Intellectual and the Creative Process: Where Heart Meets Mind and Soars with the Soul,� and Hunter Scott will speak about �Seeking Justice for the Survivors of the U.S.S. Indianapolis.�
The cost for Edufest is $380 per person. Parent Day is $55 for one parent or $75 for two; the institute is $100 per person. Reservations are still being accepted.
