News Release August 12, 2005 Boise State Volunteer Services Board To Host Volunteer Expo Boise State’s Volunteer Services Board will host a student Volunteer Expo from 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Sept. 7 at the Boise State Jordan Ballroom. The event is free. The Expo will be held in conjunction with the Boise State Service-Learning Program and the United Way Volunteer Center. The Volunteer Expo will feature three educational sessions on how volunteering can play a role in finding a job, contributing to society and making a difference. The Expo also will feature a volunteer fair where students and the public can meet with community members and “shop” for projects benefiting Ada County non-profits. The Volunteer Services Board is a student-run, student-funded organization that provides volunteering opportunities to the Boise community. The board has listings for more than 70 non-profit agencies, and presents awareness-raising events and activities focusing on homelessness, healthcare, youth and education, and environmental issues.
