News Release August 16, 2005 Boise State Showcases Graduate Students' Art Works in 'DISPARATE' Disparate, an art exhibition, will open Aug. 22 at the Boise State University Hemingway Center’s Visual Arts Center Gallery 2. A reception will be held from 6-9 p.m. Aug. 26; there will be free parking during the event at the Liberal Arts parking lot, located between the Liberal Arts Building and the Student Union. Refreshments will be served. The exhibit continues until Sept. 10. The gallery is open 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday, noon-5 p.m. Saturday, and is closed on Sunday. Admission is free. Disparate features works by seven artists who are working toward their Master of Fine Arts in Visual Arts degrees. The exhibit includes performance art, printmaking, photography, painting and sculpture. Participants include Isaac Grambo, Marlow Hoffman, Lorin Humphreys, Angela Katona-Batchelor, Sue Latta, Candace Nicol and Ralph Polasky. The MFA in Visual Arts program at Boise State is designed to engage the student in both the theory and practice of their disciplines. Graduate students are encouraged to explore and integrate other relevant content areas, and the program’s coursework emphasizes applied study, art history, theory and criticism. -30- Contact: Kirsten M.
