Boise State faculty and students are invited to attend the 12th annual Intermountain Conference on the Environment, titled “Recognizing the Environment,” Sept. 13 and 14 at Idaho State University. Registration is $100. A banquet will be held the evening of Sept. 13; cost is $30. In addition, an optional geo-field trip to Yellowstone National Park is scheduled for Sept. 12; fee is $60.

Topics covered at the conference include:

· surface and groundwater

· Portneuf and Snake River watershed ecosystems

· emerging biological and physical/chemical technologies

· clean energy alternatives

· resource recycling

· air quality and solid waste issues

· sustainable agricultural practices and urban planning

· public outreach and implementation

· computer information application in environmental studies

· radioactive waste — decontamination and decommission

· other relevant environmental topics
