Greg Raymond Named BSU Frank Church Professor

Gregory A. Raymond has been named the 2005-2006 Frank Church Professor of International Relations at Boise State University. The one-year professorship, funded by the College of Social Sciences and Public Affairs and the Frank Church Chair of Public Affairs, focuses on nationally or internationally known experts in international policy.

A globally respected scholar in the field of world politics, Raymond is director of the Honors College at Boise State. He earned his Ph.D. in international studies from the University of South Carolina and has been a Pew Faculty Fellow at Harvard University, a consultant to various government agencies and an academic associate of the Atlantic Council.

Raymond is the recipient of many teaching awards, including being named the 1994 Idaho Professor of the Year by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. He has published 12 books, more than 60 articles on foreign policy and world politics, and has lectured on international issues at universities and research institutes in 21 different countries. His work on great-power foreign policies has been called a “must read” by former U.S. Secretary of State Lawrence S. Eagleburger. His newest book, titled “After Iraq: The Imperiled American Imperium,” will be released in 2006.
