BSU Professors Edit Book
on Women and Girls in Sports

A new book edited by two Boise State
University kinesiology professors details the physical and psychological
factors affecting girls’ and women’s participation in athletics. “Ensuring
the Health of Active and Athletic Girls and Women,” edited by Lynda Ransdell
and Linda Petlichkoff, includes chapters from more than 20 contributing
authors who are experts in their fields.
The textbook is expected to serve as a comprehensive and contemporary
resource for coaches, athletes, administrators, students and educators. The
book looks at the factors affecting participation in physical activity and
sport in the United States, as well as the physiological and psychological
issues related to healthy sport and physical activity participation. Topics
include:
