Intro to Kayaking. The REC. 7-9:45 p.m. This six-day seminar takes place in the Boise State pool and on the Boise River. Learn history, equipment, technique and the basic principles of river safety. All equipment and transportation will be provided by the Outdoor Program. $115. Call 426-2628.

Boise Chamber Music Series. Morrison Center Recital Hall. 8 p.m. The renowned Alexander String Quartet will perform. Together since 1981, the group has performed in the major music capitals of four continents, securing its standing among the premier ensembles of its kind. Widely admired for its interpretations of Beethoven and Bartok, the Quartet has also established itself as an important advocate of new music through commissions and numerous premiere performances. $20 general, $15 seniors. “Latinos in the Media.” Boise State Student Union Forum. 4-6 p.m. Farhana Hibbert from Idaho Unido, Idaho’s only bilingual newspaper, leads a discussion about Latinos in the media. Free. Call 426-5950.

Family Camping Trip. 9 a.m. departure. This overnight adventure is a collaborative effort between the Outdoor Program and the Student Programs Board. A great opportunity to meet other families with similar interests. Leadership, equipment, food and transportation will be provided by the Outdoor Program and the Student Programs Board.
