Public Parking Options For Sept. 21 Football Game

The merger of people attending academic classes at Idaho’s largest institution and a mid-week football game at sold-out Bronco Stadium is expected to create traffic congestion Sept. 21 on the Boise State University campus. People are encouraged to use alternative transportation and shuttle-served designated parking areas to ease traffic flow. Kickoff for the nationally-televised game against Bowling Green is 6:05 p.m. on Wednesday.

Public parking alternatives include:

  • Downtown Boise offers free Bronco shuttle from the following restaurants: Angell’s Bar & Grill, Bardenay, Brick Oven Bistro, Hannah’s, Ha Penny, Reef and Shakers Saloon & Grill. Downtown pick-ups occur every 15 minutes, beginning two hours prior to kickoff and immediately after game time. The shuttle drops off/picks up on Campus Lane behind the stadium north end zone. Event parking in downtown public parking garages is $5.
  • Washington Group International at One Morrison-Knudsen Plaza lot has $5 public parking and shuttle service after 5 p.m.
  • Boas Tennis Facility at 1507 Oakland Ave. has $5 public parking and shuttle service.
  • 24 Hour Fitness at corner of Park Center and Beacon has $5 public parking and shuttle service.
  • Boise State south campus lots have $5 public parking after 4 p.m.
  • For people using alternative transportation to campus, a free shuttle will operate between the parking garage on the west side of campus and the Bronco Stadium parking lot.
  • More parking spaces actually exist on campus – about 6,500 – as compared to last year, said Jared Everett, director of Boise State’s parking and transportation services, despite construction of the multi-purpose indoor training facility adjacent to the stadium. The remaining home games this season will be played on Saturdays.
