BSU Speaker To Address Safety In American Cities

The community is invited to attend a free lecture by nationally recognized scholar Nicholas Lovrich from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, in the Boise State University Student Union Hatch A/B Ballroom. Lovrich will speak on sustaining public safety and a high quality of life in American cities.

The presentation will feature findings from a study of 28 U.S. cities. Profiles of the top five and bottom five cities with respect to sustainability will be presented, and a comparison will be drawn to Boise.

Lovrich is the Claudius O. and Mary W. Johnson Distinguished Professor of Political Science and the director of the Division of Governmental Studies and Services at Washington State University. He has published nine books and several articles dealing with a variety of issues related to public administration theory and practice, evaluation research, public safety policy and administration, natural resource and environmental policy and administration, and state and local government.
