News Release September 26, 2005 Boise State to Present Lecture By Katy Stone Artist Katy Stone will give a lecture at 6 p.m. Oct. 13 at the Idaho Historical Museum, 610 N. Julia Davis Park Drive. Stone�s appearance is presented by the Boise State University Department of Art and the Visual Arts Center�s Visiting Artist and Scholar Series. The lecture is presented in conjunction with �Katy Stone: Fall,� which is on view at the Boise Art Museum through Oct. 16. The event is free and open to the public. Stone received a BFA from Iowa State University in 1992 and an MFA in painting from the University of Washington in 1994. Her work has been exhibited at venues including the Art Museum of Missoula, Mont.; the Greg Kucera Gallery in Seattle; and the Neuhoff Gallery in New York. The Boise Art Museum calls Stone�s work �an intriguing coalescence of drawing, painting and sculpture � Stone�s inspiration comes from the forms and forces of nature, and her work revolves around themes that recur in nature �� Stone�s pieces are made with acrylic painted on clear acetate, which is then cut into various shapes and installed.
