Carlos Conejo to be Keynote Speaker at Boise State's Annual Mirando Adelante Oct. 21

Carlos Conejo, an expert on multiculturalism and motivating diverse groups, will be the guest speaker at Boise State University’s annual campus visitation program for Latino high school students later this month.

Sponsored by the Boise State Admission Office, the Mirando Adelante program will be held from 8:15 a.m.-3 p.m. Oct. 21 in the Student Union. The program’s objective is to promote higher education among area Hispanic students.

Conejo, known as the “Bilingual Dynamo,” will speak in the Jordan D Ballroom from 9-10 a.m. His presentation will focus on eliminating cultural barriers and preparing for a successful future. He has been featured on the Business News Network, the Lifetime Channel and several other television and radio shows. The market research firm of MarketData, Hispanic Business Magazine and the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s Hispanic Trends Magazine rank Conejo as one of the top Hispanic speakers in the nation.

The day’s events will include a panel discussion titled “What the Future Holds for Latinos With and Without a College Degree” from 10:15-11:15 a.m. A university fair and an information session sponsored by Boise State’s College Assistance Migrant Program will be held from 11:15 a.m.-noon, and from noon-3 p.m. the Mirando Adelante participants will be treated to a lunch and dance sponsored by Boise State’s OrganizaciÛn de Estudiantes Latino-Americanos.
