Southbound Broadway Avenue to be Closed Temporarily for
Homecoming Parade
The southbound side of Broadway Avenue, next to Julia Davis Park and Bronco
Stadium, will be closed from 2-3 p.m. Oct. 8 for the Boise State University
Stampede Into the Streets Homecoming Parade.
Parade watchers are advised not to stand on the northbound side of Broadway
Avenue because the northbound lane will not be closed. The parade will be
visible from Broadway Avenue and University Drive. Parade participants will
travel south on Broadway and will turn west on University; for a map of the
parade route, visit
http://homecoming.boisestate.edu and click on “Parade.” Visitors
to the Web site also will find a schedule of Homecoming events, including
information on the game.
The grand marshals for this year’s parade will be Duane and Lori Stueckle.
The Stueckles will be honored for their many contributions to Boise State
University; most recently, they established the Dean’s Distinguished
Professor Award. That award provides an annual supplemental salary in the
five-figure range for an outstanding faculty member in the Biology
Department who is involved in research and teaching in areas with biomedical
application.
The Stueckles also were instrumental in raising money for the
multimillion-dollar Indoor Multi-Purpose Athletic Practice Facility that is
currently under construction. Duane Stueckle is a Boise businessman and
entrepreneur, and the couple has been a longtime donor and supporter of
Boise State.
The Stueckles also will be honored during the Homecoming game vs. the
Portland State Vikings. Kickoff is at 6:05 p.m. Oct. 8 at Bronco Stadium.
