News Release October 19, 2005 Artist Donates Painting To Boise State Women's Center
The painting, done in oil sticks on watercolor paper, is a playful interpretation of the desert landscapes of southern and central Idaho, inspired particularly by the rolling hills and brush. Clemmons, a landscape artist, earned a BFA from Boise State in 1990. Her work has been shown at the Art Source Gallery and The Gallery at Hyde Park in Boise. Clemmons’ painting joins other original art donated to the Women’s Center, including sculptures “Lilith” by Zella Bardsley and “No Fear of Feminism” by Melody Eisler; a painting, “The Vagina Monologues” by Rose Elkovich; and an untitled pencil drawing by David Habben. The art can be viewed from 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Women’s Center, 1605 University Drive, across from the Student Union.
