Boise State Art Department Presents 'Crazy Eight' BFA Thesis Exhibition

The Boise State University Art Department will present “Crazy Eight,” a BFA thesis exhibition, from Nov. 11-Dec. 3 in the Visual Arts Center. An opening reception will be held from 7-9 p.m. Nov. 11; free parking during the reception will be available in the lot between the Liberal Arts Building and the Student Union Building. The exhibit and the reception are free and open to the public.

“Crazy Eight” is made up of pieces by eight students who work with a diverse array of media and concepts. The works by Matt Allred, Shay Plummer, Bill Hofstra, Jeanne Giltzow, Chris Kranz, Simri Farfan, Amber Hawton-Hill and Christie Nicols cover a variety of media, from ceramics to installations to paintings.

The artists have delved into the more spectacular aspects of contemporary culture. Pieces range from campy paintings to autobiographical ceramic pieces, from found-art sculpture to comic illustrations.

The Visual Arts Center is open Monday-Friday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday from noon-5 p.m. Gallery 1 is located in the Liberal Arts Building and Gallery 2 is in the Hemingway Center. The display is free and open to the public.
