Boise State to Present
Screening of Documentary 'Seoul Train'
Boise State University, in partnership
with Idaho Public Television and the Independent Television Service, will
present a screening of Seoul Train at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 15 in the Student
Union Bishop Barnwell Room. Seoul Train will run again at 5:30 p.m. Nov.
16 in the second-floor lounge at BSU West. Each screening will be followed
by a question-and-answer session, and both are free and open to the public.
Seoul Train examines the growing and potentially explosive humanitarian
crisis threatening East Asian peace: the lives and deaths of North Koreans
as they try to escape their homeland and China. Seoul Train tells the
story of the politics and bureaucracy that refugees are forced to deal with,
as well as the story of the activists who put themselves in harms way to
save them via an underground railroad.
Seoul Train is part of the Diverse Perspectives Film Series, a community
engagement project. Films are selected from the Emmy award-winning public
television series Independent Lens, which airs on Idaho Public Television at
10 p.m. each Tuesday. The next film in the series, Negroes with Guns, will
be screened Jan. 18-19 at Boise State and BSU West.
