Low-cost Power Generation
Topic of Free Lecture on Nov. 14 at Boise State's Micron Engineering Center
Artin Der Minassians of the University of California at Berkeley will
present a free lecture on �Low-Cost Solar-Thermal-Electric Power Generation�
at 3:40 p.m. on Nov. 14 in Room 106 of the Micron Engineering Center.
The lecture, presented by the Boise State student chapter of the Society of
Hispanic Professional Engineers, is free and the public is invited.
Refreshments will be served.
Der Minassians is a fifth-year Ph.D. candidate at UC-Berkeley and has
received a number of awards and scholarships. His current project has been
funded by the University of California Energy Institute and the National
Science Foundation.
The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers at Boise State promotes the
development of minorities in the fields of science, technology, engineering
and mathematics to achieve educational excellence, economic opportunity and
social equality. Last year, the university�s SHPE chapter was recognized as
Boise State�s outstanding student organization from among more than 180
student organizations.
SHPE meetings are held Tuesdays at 5 p.m. in the Student Union Building and
students from all majors are invited to attend. Check SUB kiosks for meeting
