Boise State Celebrates the
Season with Annual Holiday Family Music Concert
The Boise State University Department of Music will present its annual
Holiday Family Concert at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 4 in the Morrison Center Main Hall.
Tickets are $1, $4 and $6 through Select-a-Seat, 426-1494 or
www.idahotickets.com. Parking is free.
This year’s concert will feature performances by the Boise State Flute
Choir, the Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble, University Choirs, the Faculty Brass
Ensemble and the University Symphony Orchestra. This year, Boise State
President Bob Kustra will give a special reading of “’Twas the Night Before
Christmas,” backed by the orchestra.
The music groups will perform a wide range of music, including Johann
Strauss’ “Overture to ‘Die Fledermaus’,” which is traditionally performed
during the holidays in Vienna; Leroy Anderson’s “A Christmas Festival”;
movements from the Bach Magnificat; “Achat Shoalti,” a piece in Hebrew;
“Christmas Auld Lang Syne”; “Oma wurde von einem Rentier überfarhen”; “How
Brightly Shines the Morning Star”; “Jingle Bell Prism” and more.
The Boise State Chamber Singers will provide pre-concert caroling in the
lobby, and the whole crowd is invited to close out the concert with a
sing-along.
