Thanksgiving Programming on Boise State Radio
Music and Talk Programming

BOISE – Boise State Radio is ready to help meet your culinary, musical and aesthetic needs this Thanksgiving on both NPR News 91 and on KBSU and KBSW- Arts and Cultural Programming.

Lynne Rossetto Kasper, host of The Splendid Table.

This Thanksgiving, count great classical music among your blessings. An all-day Classical Thanksgiving will begin on KBSU and KBSW with Monika and Steve in the Morning, sharing music and stories that will warm the heart — and whet your musical appetite for the day ahead.

Meanwhile, on NPR News 91, it’s an hour of Thanksgiving morning triage for cooks across the nation. Lynne Rossetto Kasper, host of The Splendid Table, and Marketplace host Kai Ryssdal will be taking your calls in a live, one-hour broadcast when you need it most, on the biggest cooking day of the year. The lines will be open for listener calls at 9 a.m. Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24. Call 1-800-228-7123.

At 10 a.m., while that all-American turkey is ushered into the oven, Kimberlea Daggy will celebrate all-American composers, performers and ensemble on KBSU and KBSW. At noon, she will celebrate family traditions by sharing the legacies of history’s renowned musical families, including the illustrious Bachs — a family tree of 76 musicians, no less than 53 of them named Johann.

All day there will be delightful music that all can be thankful for, including beloved works like Beethoven’s Symphony #6 “Pastoral” at 11 a.m., Copland’s Appalachian Spring at 1 p.m., Dvorak’s Symphony #9, “From the New World” at 2 p.m. and Telemann’s Tefelmusik at 4 p.m.

KBSU-FM (90.3 Boise) and KBSW-FM (91.7 Twin Falls) are the arts and cultural stations of Boise State Radio. NPR News 91, including 91.5 Boise, 88.5 Burley, 91.3 Jackpot, 90.7 McCall and 91.1 Sun Valley, is the news/talk station of Boise State Radio and Boise State University.
